Honda and Yamaha duos set to headline Sepang Shakedown

Quartararo, Mir and Acosta are just some of the names readying themselves for the first bit of track action in 2024

For the first time since the Valencia Test in late November, MotoGP™ machines will roar back into life on Thursday when the Sepang Shakedown officially gets underway. Three days of action will see test riders, rookies and, now, teams with concessions get the new season underway in Malaysia, ahead of the full 2024 premier class grid joining them on track next week for the Official Sepang Test.

Repsol Honda's Joan Mir and Luca Marini will continue the huge task of dragging the Japanese giant back to the top of the sport, with added help coming courtesy of Johann Zarco and Taka Nakagami (LCR Honda). Plus, we'll see Stefan Bradl and Takumi Takahashi also out on track making it a total of six HRC riders in action.

It will no doubt be a very busy three days of running for the Monster Energy Yamaha pair of Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins, as they similarly look to return to the sharp end of the grid. Cal Crutchlow and the Yamaha Test Team will also be in attendance and working hard on the new Yamaha M1.

Red Bull GASGAS Tech3's Pedro Acosta will make his 2024 debut along with KTM's Test line-up of Dani Pedrosa and Pol Espagraro. Ducati and Aprilia will blow the cobwebs off their 2024 machines too, with Michele Pirro and Lorenzo Savadori both in attendance.
