The MotoGP™ field left the pitlane for 30 minutes of track action in Free Practice 2 at the Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich 2024, with Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) topping the timesheets after setting a 1:29.243 ahead of qualifying. The Italian had a 0.052s advantage over the impressive Pol Espargaro (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), who claimed second place as he continues to look strong at the Red Bull Ring. The #44 placed ahead of Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™), with the eight-time World Champion rounding out the top three.

Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) was fourth, in a tricky morning for the Spaniard who suffered a cut on his finger on his left hand. The #89 was ahead of Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™ Team), who rounded out the top five after a strong morning ahead of Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) in sixth. Viñales was 0.277s adrift from Bagnaia’s time, finishing ahead of Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) in seventh and Red Bull GASGAS Tech3’s Pedro Acosta in eighth.

Meanwhile, Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) was ninth, while the final spot inside the top 10 went the way of Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing). Further back, Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) ended Free Practice 2 in 14th as Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) finished in 18th.
