Martin confirmed to miss Portuguese GP

The Aprilia rider will remain on the sidelines as his recovery continues

Aprilia Racing have confirmed Jorge Martin will miss the Portuguese GP to continue his recovery.

The Spaniard has been sidelined since a crash in the Tissot Sprint in Japan saw him fracture his collarbone, missing the remainder of Motegi as well as Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia.

With the Aprilia rider confirmed out of action in Portugal, the question now just remains around the season finale in Valencia - and the post-race test.

On Wednesday following the Malaysian GP, the team offered a further update on his recovery - with another check to take place soon:

"Today Jorge Martín underwent a medical check with Professor Xavier Mir after the surgery that fixed his right clavicular fracture following the accident suffered in Japan. The post-operative evolution is progressing as expected, with full recovery of mobility in his right arm, although the fracture has not yet healed completely. A further medical check is due in the next few days."
