First on the podium on the world stage in 2007 and taking two more in 2010, Esteve “Tito” Rabat then moved up to Moto2™ in 2011. A first Moto2™ podium in 2012 then saw the Spaniard win his first race in 2013 in Jerez and take two more victories than same year. Switching to Marc VDS Racing Team for 2014, Rabat fought teammate Mika Kallio and rookie Maverick Viñales for the crown and won it in style at the Malaysian GP. Looking to defend the title in 2015, some injuries saw the Spaniard unable to achieve the feat, although he took a final Moto2™ win from pole in Valencia. He moved up to MotoGP™ for 2016, and Rabat had a tough rookie year but scored points regularly – a record he kept going in his sophomore season. In 2018 he moved to Reale Avintia Racing and switched from Honda to Ducati machinery, with some impressive performances before his season was curtailed by injury. A bad leg break at Silverstone sat him on the sidelines for the remainder of the year but he was back on track in testing and remained with the team for 2019. A best finish of P9 went to Rabat in Barcelona that season, but he failed to crack the top 10 during a condensed 2020. Rabat brought his full time six-year MotoGP™ career to an end as he moved into WorldSBK for 2021, but he wasn’t gone for long as he replaced Pramac Racing’s injured Jorge Martin at the Spanish and French GPs. In 2023, Rabat makes a welcome return to the Grand Prix paddock as he gets set for a maiden MotoE™ voyage with Octo Pramac MotoE.
