Loris Capirossi's 21 year career in GP racing is one of the longest in the sport. The Italian was 125cc World Champion by the age 17, winning the title once more before moving to 250cc in 1992. He debuted in 500cc in 1995, though in 1997 moved back to 250cc where he won the 1998 Championship. Back to 500cc in 2000, Capirossi picked up 15 podiums and a win with Honda in three seasons, then moved to Ducati in 2003 to finish 4th overall. The 2005 season saw him finish strong with a second in Brno and wins in Japan and Malaysia. He was third in the Championship in 2006, with wins in Jerez, Brno and Motegi. His final season with Ducati in 2007 gave him four podiums including a win at Motegi, before moving to Suzuki for the next three seasons, moving to Pramac for one year before his retirement at the end of 2011.
