James Toseland was recruited into MotoGP for the 2008 campaign with Tech 3 Yamaha as Britain\'s great hope after the 2007 season was the first in World Championship history with not a single point scored in the premier class by a British rider. Toseland’s early career saw him progress through 125cc domestic UK racing before competing in British Supersport, the European Championship, World Supersport and World Superbike where he won two titles. Toseland\'s first race in MotoGP found the Briton start from second on the grid to finish sixth, which turned out to be his best finish of the season, which he achieved six times en route to 11th place in the championship. The Yorkshireman achieved ten top 10 finishes in his second and last season in MotoGP.
