Gino Rea came into the World Championship in 2012 with Gresini Racing Moto2 after impressing in the European Superstock and World Supersport series, having won the title in the former in 2009. Adapting to the Moriwaki of the Gresini Team the Londoner rode alongside Ratthapark Wilairot for the 2010 Moto2 title winning outfit, eventually abandoning the Japanese chassis and moving to a Suter for Le Mans onwards. In Malaysia he managed a brilliant third position in the rain, but this did not prove to be enough to cement a full-time ride for 2013. A huge personal effort resulted in Rea entering numerous 2013 races with a privately-funded entry, as well as competing in other races with Argiñano & Gines Racing. The positive news then came that for 2014 Rea had amassed sufficient budget to contest the entire Moto2™ campaign on a Suter, the Englishman notching up seven points over the course of the season. In 2015 Rea rides a Kalex in his fourth full Moto2 class campaign.
