Marco Petrini is as much a fan of football as he is of motorbikes - last season he had the name of his favourite player, Inter Milan star Taribo West, stitched to his leathers. He made his World Championship debut as a wildcard rider in the 1999 Italian Grand Prix, and completed his first full season in 125 in 2000. Despite not making much of an impact in the series so far, his curriculum still makes interesting reading - including victory in the Aprilia 125 under-16 challenge in 1997 and 3rd place in the European Championship in 1999, also on an Aprilia.
