Barcelona-born American rider Kenny Noyes is back for a second season in the Moto2 World Championship in 2011, and will be on an FTR chassis with the Avintia-STX team in the same structure as Esteve Rabat and Yonny Hernández.
Noyes started out on dirt bikes at just four years old, and in 2000 was US pro singles national dirt track champion. Coming across to Europe to learn his road racing trade in the CEV (Spanish National Championship), Noyes won the Spanish National Superstock Championship title in 2003 and the Spanish National Endurance Championship in 2005. Fourth in the Spanish 1000cc Formula Extreme in 2008 and 2009 followed, and his extensive four-stroke experience led to a World Championship debut in Moto2 in 2010 riding a Promoharris machine for the Jack&Jones by Antonio Banderas team. A pole in only his third race – at Le Mans – was a highlight, with best finishes of seventh at Jerez and Catalunya.
