Rider Story

Steven Odendaal started his professional racing career in 2007, finishing fourth overall in the South African 125cc Championship. He quickly progressed through the ranks to ride 600cc machines before making his Moto2™ World Championship debut in 2011 with Suter. After a year in the European Moto2™ Championship as part of the CEV, Odendaal joined the world stage in 2013 with the AGR Team riding a Speed Up. A difficult season saw the South African return to the European Moto2™ Championship the following year, alongside competing in the South African Super 600 Championship, where he claimed titles in 2014 and 2015. One year later was a breakthrough season for Odendaal as he became the European Moto2™ Champion with six wins and three podiums. He undertook a new challenge in 2017 by moving to the NTS Sportscode T.Pro outfit on-board an NTS chassis, finishing third overall. Following an incredibly successful season, Odendaal again made the step up to the Moto2™ World Championship, scoring four points in 2018 as the NTS chassis made their Grand Prix racing debut with the RW Racing Team. The goal for 2019? Consistent point scoring finishes as he, NTS and RW Racing GP remain together.
