Simone Corsi’s first full season in the World Championship came in 2003 and his steady progression culminated in him finishing runner-up in the 125cc class in 2008. In 2010 he graduated to Moto2™ and in a standout ride at Mugello stood on the podium - having started from 26th on the grid. 2011 saw Corsi finish sixth overall after collecting two podiums and a series of top-ten results. Corsi raced with Forward Racing in 2013 and 2014, when a heavy crash at Silverstone saw his 2014 campaign ended early by injuries to his left arm before he returned for 2015. He ended the year in 12th overall and returned to Speed Up machinery in 2016, joining the factory Speed Up Racing team as a replacement for the departing Sam Lowes. The Italian remained with the team in 2017 and took solid results, before switching to Tasca Racing Scuderia Moto2 for 2018 on a Kalex. 2019 saw him continue to challenge for the Top 15 before a mid-season switch to NTS RW Racing GP, where he raced just twice. 2020 saw him move teams once again, this time to MV Augusta Temporary Forward, where again he was a consistent Top 15 challenger. 2021 saw Corsi record back-to-back 24th place Championship finishes, while he also took a first pole position in almost nine years in the season finale. That proved a bittersweet occasion though, as mechanical issues on the warm up lap meant the Italian never made lights out. Corsi prepares for his final season of racing with MV Augusta for 2022.
