LIVE TEXT: Updates from the Misano Test

Find out how the Misano Test unfolded from a crucial day of action on the Adriatic Coast

After hours - That wraps up an action-packed weekend on the Adriatic Coast, where Yamaha’s stars put the new V4 through its paces in Misano. Meanwhile, KTM and Pedro Acosta set the pace, giving us plenty to talk about from a busy day of testing. Catch the full rundown here!
18:00 - THE CURTAIN CLOSES! There we have it, the chequered flag is officially out at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli with no last-minute movers inside the top three. Pedro Acosta ends the day quickest, finishing the day ahead of Raul Fernandez and Franco Morbidelli. Fabio Di Giannantonio climbed into fourth in the final hour as Fermin Aldeguer rounded out the top five. Now all that’s left to do is to analyse what we witnessed today and hear from the stars after a busy Misano Test - first up, it's Jorge Martin!
17:55 - FIVE-MINUTE WARNING: The chequered flag is almost out at Misano, with Franco Morbidelli heading back on track for one final run. Could the #21 pull off a last-minute surprise to shake up the timesheets on the Adriatic Coast?
17:45 - Just a handful of riders remain on the circuit, with Jorge Martin, Brad Binder, Maverick Viñales and Takaaki Nakagami continuing to clock times. Binder is certainly continuing to push, with the #33 leaping to P10 in the timesheets!
17:30 - With just 30 minutes remaining of the Misano Test, we are nearly ready to get our teeth stuck into all the detailed analysis from a crucial day. We will have plenty of reaction for you, including interviews, highlights and more! But don’t worry, we will continue to bring you through the final 30 minutes right here.
17:00 - Here we are! We tick into our final hour in Misano, our final hour of track action before the flyaways. No real change within the top three in the last 10 minutes, but Acosta, Morbidelli, Bagnaia and Marco Bezzecchi are all out on the circuit, so expect a spicy final 60 minutes…  If you do want to have a quick peek, check out the full classification below!
16:50 - Raul Fernandez impressed in the morning, and the #25 has done it again this afternoon with a 1:30.761 for Trackhouse. Fernandez is the team’s sole rider today after Ai Ogura decided to sit out of the Misano Test, with all focus switching to the Japanese GP. At the top, Acosta now leads Fernandez by 0.387s, with Franco Morbidelli completing the top three. It’s nearly crunch time!
16:40 - It’s been a very interesting day in the Bagnaia camp, with the Italian remaining inside the top five this afternoon. Bagnaia continues to search for a better feeling, spending some of today with the 2024 aero package, instead of the updated 2025 aero. As things stand, Bagnaia is just 0.574s adrift from top spot, placing ahead of his teammate after completing nearly 30 laps in Session 2!
16:25 - It’s like a family reunion over at KTM, with Brad Binder continuing to spin laps this afternoon. The #33 has just improved, slotting into P17, just a few places ahead of Dani Pedrosa. KTM have brought some new parts to the party today, with some small updates – including an updated swingarm for Pedrosa to try.
16:05 - Well… That didn’t last long… Franco Morbidelli has jumped into second position, posting a 1:30.915 to improve and change the top three order. The Italian is just 0.541s behind Acosta, with clearly more surprises in store this afternoon!
16:00 - It has been a BIG hour in terms of lap times, with Pedro Acosta remaining in P1 as things stand following 15 laps of running. The #37 is ahead of Fermin Aldeguer, with the MotoGP rookie enjoying his test in second, while Pecco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez complete a talented top five!
15:50 - Earlier in the day, we mentioned some of Honda’s new toys on the testing list, with HRC trying a new chassis and aero. Amongst the new parts is a slimmer front fairing on Luca Marini’s machine – which you can spot below. Marini has now gone back onto the circuit, sitting in P10 as Nakagami hits the track for the first time in this important Misano Test!
15:40 - APRILIA’S PLANS: The Noale factory continues with a busy day of testing and comparing, with Aprilia trying a new chassis today. They also have some electronic updates to try, while Jorge Martin continues to make himself feel at home! Currently, Bezzecchi sits P7 in the timesheets, with Martin setting a 1:32.013 to land P15 in the afternoon session.
15:30 - We’ve already seen Fabio Quartararo take out Yamaha’s V4 for a spin this morning – now it’s Alex Rins’ turn. The #42 is on track this afternoon, with the brand-new prototype on his side of the box, and we’ll be sure to track his times closely. Watch Rins head out on his first run below!
15:15 - One rider we’re still waiting to see today is Takaaki Nakagami (Honda HRC Test Team), with the #30 yet to set a time so far. He’s one of three test riders on track today, alongside Michele Pirro for Ducati and Dani Pedrosa for KTM.
15:00 - NEW PACE: Pedro Acosta is posting some impressive times this afternoon, with the KTM star working hard after a disappointing end to his San Marino GP! It marks the end of another hour of running, with Acosta’s 1:30.374 putting him ahead of Alex Marquez in second and Raul Fernandez in third, while Marco Bezzecchi and Miguel Oliveira round out the top five!
14:50 - Honda has now confirmed that Joan Mir will miss today’s Misano Test, with the #36 looking ahead to the Japanese GP. Mir had a difficult San Marino GP, with a fall on Friday causing the 2020 World Champion to miss Saturday’s action. However, he would take to the grid on Sunday before a crash at Turn 4 brought an end to his weekend.
14:45 - Marc Marquez’ first time of the afternoon is now on the board, setting a 1:33.373 as he spends the day trying different swingarms and handlebar positions – continuing to fine-tune his setting. The #93 also caught up with his teammate during today's action, with Ducati giving us an inside glimpse into the conversation.
14:35 - The track is getting busier, with Pedro Acosta, Raul Fernandez, Fermin Aldeguer and even Pecco Bagnaia heading out for more laps. Bagnaia wrapped up this morning’s session in P5, with some familiar faces in the box this morning – including a visit from Casey Stoner!
14:25 - Back to work: Alex Marquez is chipping away out on track, reclaiming his spot at the top of the timesheets in the afternoon session. It didn’t take long for Somkiat Chantra to join the track action either, with the MotoGP rookie continuing to look for a step in the right direction this afternoon.

14:00 - Action continues in the Misano sun, with the pitlane back open for another four hours of testing action! 12:45 - THE FLAG WAVES! That brings a frantic end to our first fast laps of today’s Misano Test, with Session 1 coming to a close as Alex Marquez heads Marco Bezzecchi and Marc Marquez. However, the action doesn’t stop there, with our ‘Midday Live’ coming your way before the second half of today’s on-track action kicks off at 14:00! Check out the full results below:
12:35 - ALEX MARQUEZ HITS THE TOP: Just 10 minutes are left on the clock for the opening session of the Misano Test, with Alex Marquez charging into a late P1 after setting a 1:30.714! The #73 has clocked over 30 laps in Session 1 and will be sure to head into the afternoon session with some added confidence!
12:30 - What’s the best part of testing? Stealth liveries and plenty of carbon fibre, of course! Check out some of the first snaps of Luca Marini below. The #10 is currently P6, clocking a 1:30.983 and is continuing to show some incredible pace at Misano, while his teammate, Joan Mir, has yet to set a time.
12:15 - We don’t expect to see Ai Ogura in action today, with the #79 opting to sit out of today’s running to focus on Motegi in a few weeks. This means it’s a busy day for Raul Fernandez, who sits in P6 and will head testing duties for the Trackhouse MotoGP Team!
12:00 - Good Afternoon! We’re well under an hour away from the chequered flag wave in Session 1, with Bezzecchi’s time keeping the Italian in P1 as things stand. Marc Marquez remains in the pits, sitting in second position, while Acosta rounds out the three times. Bagnaia’s solid morning continues, remaining in P4 ahead of Martin, who rounds out the top five spots. Of course, it’s only testing, but we cannot resist looking at the timesheets!
11:50 - Jorge Martin has just improved once more, now entering the top five as he continues to work on the ergonomics and his position on board the Aprilia. In his own words, Martin described today as his ‘first official test’ this season, proving it to be very important for the reigning World Champion.

With Yamaha remaining focused and Jorge Martin taking an interest in the work which KTM completed earlier this morning!
11:25 - Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli have now both clocked laps for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, with the VR46 duo sitting inside the top 15. 11:00 - Another hour is done and dusted – the second hour of action is complete… As things stand, Marc Marquez is quickest, edging closer towards the first 1:30 lap of the day. The #93 sits ahead of Bezzecchi and Bagnaia, with Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) and Acosta rounding out the top five. Less than two hours remain this morning before a short pause for some practice starts and lunch!

10:40 - Is there a smile under the helmet? We certainly hope so! We’re getting our first real glimpse of Quartararo on the V4-powered Yamaha, and what an exciting prospect that is. Overall, the #20 currently sits P14, having completed over 10 laps across his runs so far!
10:30 - As Bagnaia flies to P1 ahead of Acosta, both Aprilia Racing riders have now set times following a strong weekend for the Noale factory. Marco Bezzecchi slots inside the top 10, fresh from his P2 finish on Sunday and admitting to a busy day ahead of the Misano Test. Jorge Martin is also on track, with the #1 continuing to work hard to get his bike fully dialled in!
10:20 - Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) briefly went out on track, stamping his mark with an early 1:31.615 – placing the #93 into P1. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) also briefly left pitlane, with a big day ahead for the #63 as he looks to find a step following a crash in the Grand Prix.
10:00 - The first hour is in the books! Acosta sits in P1, leading Bastianini and Luca Marini (Honda HRC Castrol) after the first 60 minutes of action. We can guarantee that times will get faster as the day goes on, but it’s always nice to get some benchmark laps to start the day…
09:55 - KTM seem to be very busy this morning, with Enea Bastianini (Red Bull KTM Tech3) joining the full-time riders on track. In terms of test riders, Dani Pedrosa (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) has also put a time on the board, with some new parts are spotted in the pitlane as he has an updated swingarm and a new rear exhaust to try.
