An eagle-eyed Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) spotted it immediately and the replay on the live programme showed it clearly - Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) and Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) both got their pitlane exit just a little wrong for Q2.
Marc Marquez said in Parc Ferme, with a touch of melodrama, that "the sport would be over" if it gained a penalty. It has... but nothing too drastic as both the #93 and the #73 have been fined to make sure neither are tempted to try a repeat.
Alex Marquez, meanwhile, also had his first Q2 lap cancelled. Whereas Marc realised his error and pulled up, Alex got on the gas a bit early - so was deemed to have gained a small but precious advantage from their optimistic timing.
