The Estrella Galicia 0,0 Gran Premio de España is on the horizon as the fifth round of 2025 beckons; a fierce scrap in 2024, it’s one of the most highly-anticipated rounds on our calendar. Whether it’s home glory for Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) or a fourth straight Jerez victory for teammate Francesco Bagnaia – or perhaps someone else – there’s always a story to follow right across the weekend.
MARC MARQUEZ: Going for gold on home turf
Getting the Championship lead back in Qatar and heading aiming for a first victory at Jerez since 2019, the #93 is the favourite going into the weekend. With only a fall from the Americas GP blotting his copybook, the Spaniard is unbeaten in Sprints and in qualifying, with four poles from four. In the fight for victory last year but unable to topple Pecco, will 2025 be different?
MOTOGP™ PRESS CONFERENCE: The stars assemble ahead of the round
As usual, Thursday gets us into gear with our first content of the round; our GearUp show gets underway at 15:30 Local Time (UTC +2) whilst the Press Conference itself kicks off at 16:00. Home-hero Marquez will be in attendance alongside brother and P2 in the Championship Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) and 2024 victor Bagnaia also present.
TRACK ACTION AT JEREZ: Crucial times for the weekend
Friday 25th April is the starting point as all classes hit the track and get the chance to book their places in Q2 with the afternoon Practice sessions vital. Saturday 26th April is the last chance to make tweaks in FP2 before Qualifying ignites to set the grid, whilst the Tissot Sprint is the first glance at who’s hot and who’s not in race trim, with lights out at 15:00. Our final day is Grand Prix Sunday on the 27th April with Moto3™ up at 11:00, Moto2™ taking place from 12:15 before the Spanish Grand Prix in MotoGP at 14:00.
Jerez is always unmissable; classics from 1996 all the way up to 2024 have taken place and that’s just the headliners. With 2025 now getting into its groove, expect more twists and turns to take place and more history to engrain itself on hallowed turf. The 2025 Estrella Galicia 0,0, Gran Premio de España is going to be a fierce fight to start our European tour.
