The 2025 Argentina GP was a weekend to remember, from spectacular final-lap moves to a record-breaking attendance, as Termas de Rio Hondo continued to deliver drama, with Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) claiming a breathtaking victory. Now, as the dust settles, get stuck into some of the best stats from the weekend below.
Marc Marquez took his 64th MotoGP™ win and his fourth at Termas de Rio Hondo, along with 2014, 2016 and 2019. It was a significant win as the #93 equalled MotoGP Legend Angel Nieto in third on the list of riders with the most Grands Prix wins across all classes (90).
This victory means that Marc Marquez has won the opening two Grand Prix of the season for the first time since 2014, although then he won the opening 10. He is the first rider to win the first two GP races since Fabio Quartararo in 2020 (Spain/Andalucia).
The #93 was also the first rider to achieve a clean sweep of pole, fastest lap and win in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix race in back-to-back Grands Prix.
Ducati has now secured their 19th successive Grand Prix win. The last manufacturer with 19 (or more) premier class wins in a row is Honda’s 22 wins in a row from Malaysia in 1997 to the Dutch TT in 1998.
Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) finished P2 for his first back-to-back podiums since France/Aragon in 2020 (also P2 in both races) when he was riding a Honda. This is his seventh MotoGP podium.
Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) secured a P3 finish for his first Grand Prix podium since he was also third in Jerez in 2021 (1414 days ago) when he was riding a Yamaha. Therefore, this is his first podium with Ducati. The Italian previously took a Sprint podium at the 2024 San Marino GP.
Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) finished P4, which is the first time he has missed the podium since he crashed out in Emilia-Romagna last year, ending a sequence of seven podiums in a row.
Bagnaia remains without a podium at Termas de Rio Hondo, which is one of only two tracks on the current calendar where he has previously raced in MotoGP and doesn’t have a rostrum finish yet – along with Brno.
Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) finished P5, which is his best result since he was P4 in Thailand last year, which was his last race of 2024 as the #49 missed the last two GPs to undergo shoulder surgery.
Johann Zarco (CASTROL Honda LCR) finished P6 to claim his best result with Honda. This is also Honda’s best result since Marc Marquez was also sixth in Thailand in 2023.
Honda had a promising weekend after three Honda riders finished inside the top 10, with Johann Zarco (P6), Joan Mir (P9) and Luca Marini (P10), who scored his best result with Honda. This is the first time there are three Honda riders within the top 10 since Portugal in 2022.
The 2025 Argentina GP also set a new attendance record at Termas de Rio Hondo, with 208,979 spectators overall during the event.
