90 wins: Marc Marquez matches Nieto’s milestone

The #93 further solidified his place in history, matching Angel Nieto's remarkable achievement of 90 career wins

Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) delivered a stunning performance at the Argentina GP, securing pole position, setting the fastest lap and claiming victory in both the Sprint and Grand Prix. It was a momentous day for the #93, as he achieved his 90th Grand Prix victory, equalling MotoGP™ Legend Angel Nieto. This remarkable triumph sees Marc Marquez move into third place in the all-time win list, now sharing the position with the Spanish MotoGP Legend.

After a spectacular start to his 2025 season, Marc Marquez continues to climb the ranks of motorcycle racing’s greatest riders after securing a 64th MotoGP victory and his 90th overall. The only riders who remain ahead of the #93 in the all-time win list are Valentino Rossi, with 115 wins, and Giacomo Agostini, who remains the most successful rider of all time with 122 wins.

It was another incredible weekend for Marc Marquez, who secured pole position after a stunning lap on Saturday morning. He would then remain undefeated in the Sprint, crossing the line with a 0.903s advantage over his brother Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP). This set the stage for Sunday’s Grand Prix, where fans around the world were treated to a tense fight between the Marquez brothers. In the end, it was Marc who came out victorious, further cementing his place in motorcycle racing history.

Speaking about his achievement in Sunday's Press Conference, Marc Marquez said: "I am super happy. It’s a big honour to equal Angel Nieto because he is and was super important for all of the Spanish motorcycling world. He opened the doors to the World Championship, so it's an honour to equal him."

The day held a special significance for Pablo Nieto, the son of Angel Nieto and Team Manager of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. Pablo Nieto took the opportunity to thank Marc for recognising his father’s achievements.
