MotoGP™ Mugello Test: Live Updates!

Keep up to date with what's unfolding in Italy as the premier class partake in a one-day Official Test

The post-GP Mugello Test has arrived as the MotoGP™ riders and teams get ready for an important few hours on track. To keep up with what’s unfolding over in Italy, check out our live text updates below:

17:52 - We were wrong! Marini is back on track again. Chaos for the end of day reports resumes.

17:48 - Right, that's your lot for riders on track at the Mugello Test. 11 minutes to go but Aprilia have just informed us an announcement is coming at 6pm... let's see what that's all about. I think we're going to be pretty busy between now and the Dutch TT in three weeks.

17:32 - Four flying laps later and the Italian is back in the box. Not long left for Maverick to have a crack at going P1...

17:23 - We have a rider on track! Marini ventures out for a late run on the Repsol Honda.

17:00 - I'm guessing you're still here reading this and not on social media or in WhatsApp groups talking about something else, right? Thought so. No riders have been out in the last hour and it looks like that's that for the Mugello Test with an hour to go.

I wouldn't bet against Maverick going out and sticking it P1 with five minutes to go though.

16:00 - It's as you were, but now there are no riders on track. However, if you head over to X (Twitter), there's plenty of activity regarding a certain red bike that a couple of riders want next year...

15:00 - Three hours to go! As we type, three riders are on track (Marini, Zarco and Savadori) and 16 riders have been out. Ducati Lenovo Team duo Pecco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini, plus Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing), Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™), the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team pair of Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio, and Aprilia Racing's Aleix Espargaro are the riders who haven't set a lap time today.

14:47 - Repsol Honda give us an idea of what conditions have been like at Mugello today. At least the sun was trying to poke through the clouds at one point!

14:00 - Here it is: Simon Crafar and Jack Gorst debrief key moments from the day and give you updates on the latest innovations that they have spotted, with the rain unfortunately returning.

13:33 - Right you are Repsol Honda, lunch break it is. Let's go get a bit of food on board before the midday live with Simon Crafar and Jack Gorst begins at 14:00 (available to watch across our social media channels).

13:00 - 15 riders have set a lap time now, a lot more than we thought would when the rain arrived. At least conditions are allowing the teams to get some valuable wet weather data. Silver linings and all that.

12:26 - Thankfully for the fellow Live Timing viewers, a few riders are enjoying some wet weather laps at Mugello. Binder, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3), Miller, Viñales, Augusto Fernandez and Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing) are providing some entertainment.

12:02 - Two hours in, six to go! Despite the downpour, Alex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™), Augusto Fernandez (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3), Luca Marini (Repsol Honda Team) and Johann Zarco (Castrol Honda LCR) have gone for a spin.

11:47 - While there's a rain delay, let's plug the MotoGP™ Tech Group. Our mate Jack Gorst has shown off his improving photography skills and given us an update on the new aero that has been spotted on the KTM and GASGAS machines.

11:35 - Confirmation from our weather reporters, KTM, that it's raining. Not sure another coffee is needed so now we're really stuck on what to do.

11:30 - It's raining.

11:20 - KTM kindly giving us a weather update. Dark clouds = non buono (translation: not good)

11:16 - Mir and Repsol Honda giving us some insight into the current track conditions. Improving, but not perfect yet.

11:08 - OK, here we go. Miller dips into the 1:49s (still a few seconds off proper pace but we're getting there) and we now have Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Joan Mir (Repsol Honda Team) lapping.

11:00 - An hour in and it remains Miller, Viñales and Savadori as the only riders who have ventured out. Back at HQ, the coffee has been drank, so we're not sure what to do now other than to enjoy this video of Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) at Mugello this weekend. Great content.

10:45 - So, 45 mins in and the picture is this: Miller is fastest with a 1:51.330, with Viñales and Aprilia Test Rider Lorenzo Savadori the only other two rider to have ventured out. With no one on track currently, it's time to get another coffee on board.

10:15 - It's all kicking off! Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) fancies a slice of the action as the Aussie joins Viñales on track.

10:10 - Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) is the first rider on track and after three laps, his best time is a 1:58.353. Not quite lap record pace yet.

10:00 - We'd love to say bikes are on track, but it's going to be a slow start to proceedings unfortunately following overnight rain. It's still quite damp out there, so there won't be much to gain. Still, make sure you set up LIVE TIMING so when bikes do head out (hopefully soon) you're all set.

09:33 - We asked the riders on Sunday what their plans were for Monday's Test, and here's what they had to say:
