Yari Montella initially emerged in the CIV, where he conquered the SP 250 4T category in 2014. In 2016 he headed to the FIM CEV Repsol. Hired by the SIC58 Squadra Corse in Moto3™, the Italian raced there for three seasons and the same team offered him two wildcard starts during the Moto3™ World Championship in 2018, in Misano and Phillip Island. In 2019, he made the jump to the European Moto2™ Championship, where he finished 7th with two podiums. 2020 marked a turning point: he won the European Moto2™ title and secured a seat in the Moto2™ World Championship in the Speed Up team where he will share the garage with Jorge Navarro.
