Born in 2006, Eddie O’Shea began riding motorcycles at a young age, racing minibikes in Great Britain before eventually making his debut in the British Talent Cup in 2019. The British rider spent two seasons in the category, finishing third in 2020 thanks to collecting a total of five podiums. In 2021, O’Shea joined the Junior Talent Team and was selected for the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup, marking the start of a learning year. He spent three seasons in the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup while steadily becoming a serious contender in the JuniorGP™ paddock. He would score his first podium in 2022, continuing to impress in the Championship until mid-2024, when O’Shea was announced to replace the outgoing Joshua Whatley at MLav Racing. In his first four races, the #8 took a best finish of 16th at the Malaysian GP, with a strong building point for his first full season in the Moto3™ World Championship.
