The Moto2™ field has completed the opening Free Practice at the Gran Premio Estrella Galicia 0,0 de España, with Alonso Lopez (Beta Tools SpeedUp) topping the pile after setting a 1:40.797 on Friday morning. Lopez set 20 laps across the session and crossed the line to end Free Practice 0.120s ahead of Somkiat Chantra (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia), who was pushing to the limit from the word go – spending the early stages at the top of the time sheets but settling for second. Manuel Gonzalez (QJMOTOR Gresini Moto2™) will be aiming for a second podium of the season this weekend – ending the Free Practice in third position.

Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Celestino Vietti had a cracking start to the weekend, finishing in fourth ahead of Championship contender Fermin Aldeguer (Beta Tools SpeedUp), who rounded out the top five – less than four-tenths from the top spot. There are also some wildcards this weekend, with Matteo Ferrari (QJMOTOR Gresini Moto2™) and Jorge Navarro (KLINT Forward Factory Team) joining the grid for the Spanish GP – the latter unable to set a time during the session.
