Alonso straight on lap record pace in Spain

The opening Moto3™ session at the Gran Premio Estrella Galicia 0,0 de España has finished, with David Alonso (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team) setting the timesheets alight, ending the session 1.079s clear of his rivals. The Colombian spent most of the session at the top of the pile and would set an unbelievable 1:44.590 in the final five minutes to set a new lap record. Alonso ended the session ahead of David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports), who jumped to second in the closing seconds of Free Practice after a brilliant final lap. While Adrian Fernandez (Leopard Racing) rounded out the top three to end Friday morning as the top Honda, a further 0.250s behind.

BOE Motorsports’ Joel Kelso was fourth after setting 18 laps across the session to finish ahead of Ivan Ortola (MT Helmets – MSI), who will be aiming for a better weekend after scoring no points at the Americas GP. Riders were pushing from the start of the session, with Jacob Roulstone (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) running wide into the gravel at turn three. However, the Australian would claim ninth as the chequered ahead of fellow Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider Daniel Holgado, down in 12^th.
